Looking for a delicious, some what healthy holiday treat this season? Than these almonds are just for you! Covered in decadent dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt, this tasty snack is sure to bring a smile to your sweet tooth!
For this recipe you will need:
1 bag of dark chocolate chips
1 bag of unsalted almonds
3 tablespoons of sugar
3 tablespoons of sea salt
Empty entire bag of chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Repeat process until all the chocolate chips have melted. Be sure not to burn the chocolate!
Remove chocolate from microwave and pour almonds into the bowl with the melted chocolate. Use a spoon or fork to mix almonds in until completely covered in the melted chocolate. Moving quickly, use a fork to remove almonds from the chocolate bowl and place on a line of wax paper. Spread the almonds out so they do not stick together as the chocolate hardens.
While the chocolate is still warm, combine sugar and sea salt together in a small dish. Using a spoon, or your fingers, sprinkle sugar and salt mixture over the almonds, giving them a light dusting of sugar and salt. Allow the chocolate to harden and enjoy! (To speed up the process, you can place chocolate coated almonds in the fridge after sprinkling them with the sugar and salt mixture)
